Physical fitness
You don't need to be a kayaker, but you should still be a person that keeps in shape. That is, doing sports regularly (a couple of times per week and/or full days out during the weekend) as well as having previous experience with multi-day trips such as hiking or cycling.
Swimming
You need to be comfortable in water. We stay near land, wear life vests and practice rescue techniques, but you should still know how to swim at least 500 metres and you need to be able to float in fresh water with minimal effort.
Kayak experience
You need to have been in a kayak before and know the basics of paddling. If this is not the case I can help you with that part in the months before the trip.
Happy in the outdoors
You need to be comfortable sleeping in a tent and living in nature for a while. That is, not glamping nor camping but washing in lakes, pooping behind boulders and so on.

The kayaks carry the weight, but we still need to get to them, let's travel light! Apart from a backpack and clothes for layering, you'll need water shoes or slippers, suitable gloves, waterproof covers for your devices, a sleeping bag, plus some other small things. I take care of the rest.
If something is missing, or if you want to upgrade your kit, send me an email! I offer a rental/lending service and can give advice if you want to buy new things.
The kayak provides us with an unique way to travel through nature. It is easy to get to places that are difficult, or even impossible, to reach with other means, and paddling finds a perculiar balance between physical effort and meditative calm.
If the length of the trip does not fit with your schedule, it can be modified to include a solo return that is more suitable.
Note that the price above really includes everything. That is, all you need from start to finish and no extras whatsoever. Forget your wallet at home? No problem!
